The Position
About the job
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who can seamlessly mesh tech know-how with business acumen to help us navigate all our cloud computing needs, including infrastructure and architecture design, maintenance, support and planning. You are experienced in cloud native solutions and IaaS technologies, platforms and applications, OSs and networking, deployment pipelines. Not only can you help us connect the dots and evolve our cloud capabilities and development workflow over time to make them more secure and efficient, but you’re also evolving your own capabilities as an engineer and keeping an eye on developments that can support our expansion — and help us implement those, too.
Your Mission
Work in tandem with our developers to identify and implement the most optimal architecture for the delivery of the company software.
Planning, designing, and developing deployment pipelines, following best practices.
Managing cloud environments, ensuring also security and reliability, helping defining and improving guidelines for the company.
Educating development and product teams on new methodologies and technologies, providing associated training as required.
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
Your Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master’s degree a plus.
Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification is a plus. (Other cloud-related certifications are also a plus.)
Five years’ experience in developing software using languages such as Python, PHP, Java, Go or C++ or equivalent.
Three to five years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position.
Experience with CI/CD and related tools and platforms (e.g. GitLab).
Knowledge of Kubernetes.
Experience with Observability, Monitoring and Alerting solutions (e.g. Datadog).
Solid understanding of system architectures to achieve scalability and reliability.
Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and distributed systems.
Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and Document DBs, and related data stores.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
English is a must.
